The Department of law was established in the spring of 1995, it is one of the scientific departments of the school of Humanities, the Department receives students with a bachelor's degree in law from one of the recognized universities wishing to continue their higher studies in the following specialties:

* Public Law Division. International law division.

* Private law division.

* Criminal Law Division.

Message


 The Law Department of the Libyan Academy seeks to lead in the field of legal scientific research, and to find legal expertise with high professional competence capable of overcoming difficulties and overcoming them to achieve the rule of law.

Goals


The law department aims to achieve the following Objectives:

  1. Consolidate the scientific research base and prepare high-level specialists in all fields of law.
  2. Localizing postgraduate studies at home through enhancing research cooperation, and attracting academic professors with scientific competencies specialized in legal sciences at home and abroad to carry out scientific tasks in the field of teaching and academic supervision.
  3. Contribute to the modernization and development of the legislation of the Libyan legal system through the establishment of workshops, seminars and scientific conferences on all issues at the local and international level.
  4. The Law Department of the Libyan Academy seeks to provide support to find solutions to all the challenges facing our country to achieve security and stability, by securing a number of experts, specialists and researchers in all legal matters.
  5. Developing and updating legal curricula in our country in accordance with the skills of sober scientific research, and what scientific honesty requires in writing and preparing legal scientific dissertations.
  6. Establishing links for sustainable cooperation between the Law Department of the academy and other actors in the state, whether public or private, such as public utilities, private companies and Research Centers for the purpose of developing the level of performance of these entities more efficiently.
  7. Strengthening legal professions with professional scientific competencies in the field of law, reflecting active participation in the development of society.
  8. Keep abreast of global trends towards quality and accreditation, and work on evaluating scientific programs at the law department regularly according to comprehensive quality standards.
  9. Develop or improve academic or work-related skills; such as academic writing and specialized legal drafting.
